Looks like Mark Zuckerberg is following in Elon Musk's footsteps. Meta is launching a 'Meta Verified' subscription service that will offer paid verification to Facebook and Instagram users, for $12 a month. Subscribers will get extra protections, additional support, and other perks with their 'blue badge'. Zuckerberg says the change is "about increasing authenticity and security across our services". The move comes just two months after Twitter launched its paid 'Twitter Blue' verification service to mixed reviews.
Would you pay for your Twitter or Facebook accounts? Will we start to see all the big tech platforms do this?
