Nas & DJ PREMIER Share Tracklist For Anticipated Joint Album 'Light-Years'

Nas and DJ PREMIER have revealed the tracklist for their upcoming joint album.

On Monday, December 8, the groundbreaking duo shared the full tracklist for their upcoming album Light-Years. The album will feature 15 songs, excluding their recent collaboration "Define My Name." Nas and Preemo also have songs like "NY State of Mind Pt. 3," which picks up from the New York rapper's 1999 LP I Am..., along with "My Story Your Story" featuring AZ. No other collaborations were revealed, but you never know what surprises Nas and Preemo have up their sleeve.

The Queensbridge rapper and the revered producer recently announced the title of their upcoming LP after keeping fans waiting for years. They posted the cover art, which features a photo of them together shot by veteran photographer Danny Hastings, and officially confirmed that the album will drop on December 12. Preemo previously revealed the release date in Europe during a tour stop with The Alchemist.

Nas and DJ PREMIER first announced their plan to make a collaborative album nearly two decades ago. They spent years working on the project off-and-on while focusing on other ventures. They finally teased their album's arrival last year when they dropped "Define My Name" in honor of Illmatic's 30th anniversary. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Nas confirmed that the album is complete and revealed it would feature music he and Preemo have worked on from the early 2000s to the present.

“I can’t wait for people to finally hear it," Nas said. "I don’t know about anybody else, but for me and him, it was personally a long time coming for us to do it.”

Light-Years is the final installment of Mass Appeal's "Legend Has It" series. The Queensbridge native and his longtime label helped release several major albums from iconic rappers, including Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Slick Rick, Big L, Mobb Deep and De La Soul.
