It's lights out, and away we go!
It's New Music Friday at iHeartRadio, and one pop sensation just shifted summer into gear with an electrifying new song.
Ed Sheeran revved into the next level today with the world premiere of "Drive," the adrenaline-fueled track featured in the upcoming F1 movie starring Brad Pitt, marrying edge-of-your-seat action with powerful sound. Released this morning, the song debuted on iHeartRadio stations and immediately landed in their official Hit Nation playlist.
According to IMDB, Sheeran teamed up with rock icons Dave Grohl and John Mayer to deliver an edgy, electrifying sound that pushes beyond his usual pop roots.
The official offers a clip-by-clip front-row seat of roaring F1 cars and Sheeran belting out the chorus in a wind tunnel, accentuating themes of freedom, speed, and pursuit present throughout the highly-anticipated film.
Lyrically, "Drive" hits the gas on redemption and escape, resonating with F1's protagonist, Sonny Hayes, who returns to the track after exile, as seen in the official trailer. The single signals Sheeran’s rock reinvention and primes audiences for a summer dominated by race‑car roar and power‑chord adrenaline.
