Mac Miller Drops 'Self Care' Video, Announces New Album 'Swimming'

Mac Miller has had a whirlwind couple months. In May, he and his girlfriend of over two years, Ariana Grande, called it quitsthat same month he was arrested for a DUI and hit and run, and in June news shook the internet that his ex and her new (like very new) boyfriend Pete Davidson were engaged.

Despite his rough spring, the rapper is focusing on what he does best: make music. On Thursday (July 12) Miller announced a new album, Swimming. And the best part? Fans won't have to wait long to hear it—it's slated for an August 3 release.

The news was announced via Instagram, along with a 29-second song snippet.

"My regrets look just like texts I shouldn't send / And I got neighbors, they're more like strangers, we could be friends / I just need a way out of my head," he sings somberly.

He also released a new single, "Self Care," and corresponding video that sees Miller escape from a coffin after being buried alive, only to see the world above ground is in shambles.

Aside from "Self Care," the Philadelphia emcee also recently released "Small Worlds," both of which are available as free downloads for those who pre-order the new record. Swimming will be his first album since 2016's The Devine Feminine.
