One in Four Women Over 35 Have No Retirement Savings A survey in the UK is shedding light on something most women around the world can relate to. 1 in 4 women over 35 have nothing saved toward retirement. Half of women over 35 have saved up to the equivalent of $1300 for their pension. 1 in 10 retired women said they could not afford their household bills. One third said they could not afford the cost of running a car. According to another research firm, part of the problem rests in the pink tax. The cost of being a woman is keeping women from investing in their long term savings. The pink tax is the additional cost of products specifically marketed towards women that tend to be more expensive than products marketed towards men. Can you or a woman in your life relate to these statistics?
